Renshaw Marzipan

Marzipan was one of the first products made by Renshaw in 1898 and is still one of the biggest sellers today. The almond-based product was brought to the UK by the company’s founder John F Renshaw from his experience gained in Germany.

In recent years almonds, the key ingredient of marzipan, have been acknowledged as one of the world’s healthiest foods as they are packed with minerals and are high in healthy monounsaturated fats.

Renshaw makes a variety of marzipan including coloured marzipan. Typically used for cake covering, marzipan is versatile and can be used for intricate cake decorating as well as for modelling.

To make marzipan, Californian Almonds are blanched and processed on site. The characteristic flavour of marzipan is created by the addition of bitter almonds.

Renshaw was granted its first Royal Warrant by King George VI in 1950 followed by Queen Elizabeth II and The Queen Mother in 1955. To this day, Renshaw is the proud holder of the Royal Warrant, granted for “Purveyors of Almond Products”.
